  • Each Seller on Our Town has their own processing times, shipping methods, and shop policies; and
  • You assume responsibility if you provide your own materials for a custom order.

Always use caution when exchanging any personal information which is not strictly necessary for the completion of a transaction.

When you buy from a shop on Our Town, you’re directly supporting an independent business, each with its unique listings, policies, and processing times. By making a purchase from a Seller on Our Town, you agree that you have:

  • Read the item description and shop policies before making a purchase;
  • Submit appropriate payment for item(s) purchased; and
  • Provided accurate shipping information to the Seller.
  • Consider that small businesses cannot afford to have many returned items.

When purchasing from Sellers using Our Town, buyers may authorize a payment with any major credit or debit card accepted by Our Town, by certain bank transfer services, through PayPal (where available), Apple Pay or Google Pay. 3. Leaving a Review of an Item

Reviews are a great way to learn about a Seller’s items, help good Sellers build a strong reputation, or help warn other buyers about a poor experience. You can leave a review including a one to five star rating for 100 days after your item’s estimated delivery date. Your review and public profile information will be publicly displayed on the Seller's listing and review pages.

  • Contains obscene language hate speech;
  • Contains things that are outside the Seller’s control, such as a shipping carrier, Our Town, or a third party; or
  • Undermines the integrity of the reviews system;
  • Contains threats, harassment, extortion, or violates our rules about interference;
  • Content that is false, deceptive, or misleading;
  • Contains unsolicited advertising or promotions, requests for donations, or spam;
  • Contains private information, whether it is your own, or someone else’s;
  • Encourages or facilitates a transaction that evades the Our Town checkout process.

Sellers may also respond to reviews. Sellers’ responses to reviews must also comply with this policy. Sellers may report reviews that violate our Terms of Use. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our policies or Terms of Use.

Return & Refund Policy

Generally, all items sold on Our Town Marketplace are non-returnable, although Sellers may allow returns which will only be the amount received by the Seller and does not include donations to Causes and fees paid to Our Town (which includes service fees associated with the platform). Although Our Town is not directly involved in a transaction between a buyer and a Seller, we will intervene in the unlikely event that your order does not go as expected and you are unable to reach a resolution with the Seller. If you experience an order issue, the first thing you must do is contact the Seller via the Our Town Marketplace. Sellers should be given 48 hours to try to resolve the issue. After this period, you can contact Our Town at info@ourtown.store to alert Our Town of an unresolved order issue in the event of non-delivery, damage, or if an item you receive is not as described in the listing. We will then contact the Seller to help resolve the issue.

If Our Town determines that the above issue is not resolved adequately, the Seller will be required to refund the order, including original shipping and return shipping. Depending on the case specifics, and whether a return is requested, Our Town may refund the return shipping cost in the form of an Our Town Credit.

Some exclusions apply, subject to review by Our Town’s case management team. Eligible Buyers must have a registered account on Our Town in good standing (that means you're not violating any of Our Town's policies). Abuse of this program could result in program exclusion at Our Town’s discretion.

Requesting a Cancellation

Only Sellers may cancel transactions. Buyers may request that a Seller cancel an order via Messages. Note that all cancellations must comply with our Anti-Discrimination Policy.
